OUR FRIEND
Medici, the Papillon who inspired PetsNPatients.

On March 13, 2006, my dear little partner, Medici, lost his battle fighting for his life again with an acute flare of his disease which manifested again as Autoimmune thrombocytopenia. Refer to these sites for more information:

Despite all emergency vet care administered as we discovered he was at risk again, his autoimmune system could not be subdued. His death, we find it hard to accept. Medici was born July 6, 1999, he was six years, 8 months.

A noble Papillon dog, French for "butterfly", his little face, with penetrating eyes that reassured me through all physical trials of tolerating the immense body pain, unending fatigue of total body inflammation. Not to forget the side effects of powerful cytoxan chemotherapy and high dose steroids that began June 1, 2000 at Northwestern Memorial Faculty Foundation in Chicago. If you are struggling with lupus or autoimmune disease please consider treating at Northwestern.

My lupus autoimmune mediated manifestation was advanced proliferative glomular nephritis Stage 4-5 (out of 6 possible). Informative websites

While still a hidden disability, recovery is "nothing short of remarkable" and any remission is a time out, I am blessed.

The loss of Medici now determines me to ask for your help and make PetsNPatients™ mission a viable outreach on the importance of a pet's love and the need for prompt and accurate diagnosis of autoimmune mediated illness that rob us of the only thing we truly process, that being, time together.

Pets are family, love as family, live as family and none ever, should be left behind.

Sincerely,

Ann Marie Schrage-Glaviano
